Sam is a musical theatre and contemporary dance choreographer. She celebrates improvisational and non-codified movement in her work, and works with dancers and movers at all levels. Recently, Sam choreographed an original musical, The Crooked Star, at Chapman University.

Sam’s creative process includes allowing her actors to create choreography with games and exercises, such as “spell your name”, “create an 8 count with a partner that travels across the space”, or “show an emotion in an animal form”. Sam takes actor ideas and pieces the choreography together.
